Free People Inspired Session | Part II

Obviously, we love Free People around here! I’m so happy to bring you part two of our boho inspired session, featuring some of the very best pieces from the brand. We found a dreamy meadow that perfectly accompanied these gorgeous pieces, and these lovely ladies are some of my senior reps. Part of being one of my senior reps means you get to take part in my creative group sessions, as well as make new friends with other seniors! It’s one of my favorite parts to watch friendships blossom.
We picked three different styles of dresses for this shoot, and I’ve linked similar pieces (or exact) from the current season below, as well as how to wear these in more everyday settings.

-Two piece crop and maxi skirt: We loved the easy, breezy style of this two-piece ‘Livin Sunday’ set, now only available in a mauve color. It is beautiful and the pieces can be split up, giving up extra outfit options! We think the crop would look perfect with cutoffs and sandals, and you could tuck a solid tee into the maxi skirt for errands or a girls brunch!

-Strappy halter dress: This is a very cute dress that can be layered over a tee, or under a jacket for a more conservative occasion, or dressed up with heels or sandals for a summer date night or party! We love the “ginger” color for a offsetting a gorgeous summer tan!

-Long Side Slit Maxi: A long, dramatic maxi makes the perfect statement piece for a special event, whether it’s a photoshoot, or a birthday party. We love it paired with high, gladiator sandals for a true bohemian flair.

Madeira | Pekin High School | Bloomington Senior Photographer

I have known this beautiful and bright young woman since she was just a baby, so this session was very special to me. I felt honored that she chose me to do her senior shoot, and we had a beautiful day together creating some new memories for her to look back on. Madeira will be a 2017 graduate from Pekin High School, where she enjoys being on the student council and in the National Honor Society. She also helped plan an event for students with special needs, and led the homecoming parade...just two examples of the caliber of student and person that she is!
When she’s not in school, she enjoys spending her precious free time with friends and family, babysitting, and participating in her church youth group events. “I chose Urban Willow because I have known Lori my whole life”, she explained, “I thought it would also be a really fun experience.”After her graduation, she plans to attend Olivet Nazarene University and study business administration and finance. She says her usual style centers around comfort, and chose pretty neutrals for her senior shoot; I loved the soft waves in her hair and her blue statement necklace!
Madeira, it has been such a privilege to be part of your life, and I am proud of the person you have become! Congratulations!

Madison | Senior Girls | Bloomington Senior Photographer

Madison is soooo gorgeous, and is an incredible senior rep for Urban Willow Photography...We had a beautiful time together for her session, and were blessed with perfect weather. I wanted to take a moment to talk about accessories today! As you can see in Madison’s gorgeous session, she was all about the perfect accessories. Here’s a few of our favorite items, just like the ones Madison found:

-Floral Crowns: Whether you choose live flowers or faux, flower crowns are an inexpensive and beautiful way to accentuate your session. They add instant boho appeal, and look great with short or long hair. You can even add them over a high pony or bun for a totally different look. We like the ones at Forever 21, for affordable and fun options...some are only $5!

-The perfect sunglasses: If you’re going for an urban, modern look, sunglasses can be a really fun prop (and practical, too!). Aviators are classic, and add fun and whimsical style to your session. Paired with a moto jacket like Madison’s, they add just enough of a statement piece. We love these affordable ones from Amazon.

-A statement necklace: With Madison’s neutral, delicate lace top, a statement necklace anchored her look. Her white stoned necklace is so cute, and would add instant style to any simple tee or blouse. This one from Charlotte Russe is under $5, and looks perfect with chambray, pink, or burgundy.

Thank you, Madison, for your hard work as my senior rep!
